About this video
In the last Monday conversation with Klaus, a question remained open that goes deeper than individual political topics:
How do we actually find truth?
Klaus says:
Truth needs facts.
Truth needs clarity.
An opinion must be justifiable.
I notice a different approach in myself.
I ask:
What do I perceive?
What does my conscience say?
How do I stand towards the other person?
And can I remain at peace internally if we do not think the same?
Perhaps these two paths do not contradict each other at all.
Perhaps they complement each other.
But what happens if they really diverge?
That is exactly where we want to continue in the next Monday conversation.
We do not want to just talk about freedom of opinion and conversation.
We want to try:
to listen,
to ask questions,
to examine,
to contradict,
to justify
and still remain with the other.
In this, difficult questions will also have their place:
What is fact?
What is interpretation?
What is belief?
What can we substantiate?
And where must we honestly say: I do not know?
We also do not want to simply exclude questions about Germany, history, sovereignty, and societal development.
For me personally, something decisive belongs to the search for truth:
my faith in God and Christ.
But precisely for that reason, I do not want to impose faith as a ready answer on the other.
I want to listen.
To examine.
And to remain willing to be examined myself.
What supports me when others think differently?
And:
If love around me grows colder – must my own love also grow cold?
Perhaps the real challenge lies precisely in that.
I am here.
You are here.
We may think differently.
But we talk to each other.
