the backgrounds, traditions, and rituals of this seasonal festival.
On June 20, we have the Summer Solstice, a festival,
which our ancestors called Litha. Litha, Midsummer or Johann, is oriented in the seasonal cycle to the course of the sun. At this time, it is at its highest point and stands thus diametrically opposed to the Winter Solstice and the Yule festival.
The theme of Litha is that of abundance and maximum
expansion. Everything is bursting with vitality and is full of power.
Twelve days and twelve nights, so it was said by our ancestors,
the wheel of the year stands still,
when the sun reaches its outermost and maximum point,
just as at the Winter Solstice
and the associated twelve Rauhnächte.
Only then does the sun stag leap again,
this time into the descending half of the seasonal cycle.
Christian tells us about solstice fires
and ring dances, magic and herbs, Frau Holle, and gives insights
and outlooks on the Litha festival.
If you like, let this be fruitful for you during the twelve days and nights of Litha,
in which time – as during the Rauhnächte around the Winter Solstice – seems to stand still, within you.
Bring forth what hinders you, in order to transform it.
Celebrate the radiant abundance in your life!
Well with the realization of the natural end, of the descent,
which is inherent in this absolute abundance.
Look forward to an inspiring broadcast!
