B’nai B’rith was founded by Jewish immigrants, some of whom were Freemasons, as their own brotherhood. In 1913, its president in Atlanta, Leo Frank, was convicted of the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan.
In the same year, the brotherhood established the ADL. Still – 113 years later – they are trying to obtain a pardon for him or have him declared innocent. I interviewed his great-niece, Mary Phagan-Kean. She is angry. She is sure Frank raped and murdered her great-aunt.
