Introduction to Bukwiza – the Old Slavic Alphabet

Man is an embodiment of a certain type of consciousness. The matrix of this consciousness has a linguistic origin.
Bukwiza is a pictorial representation of such a matrix.

Language, as a multifaceted tool of humanity, goes far beyond the mere recording of historical events. A profound look at various alphabets and writing symbols reveals that Cyril, in the creation of the Cyrillic script, did not create new symbols but shortened the existing ones and reduced the Bukwiza from 49 to 43 symbols. Over time, the Bukwiza was reduced to 33 meaningless (in Russian “БезОбразные”=ugly) letters. This provides an interesting perspective on the manipulation of our scripts over time.

In light of this, our approach to historical narratives should be reconsidered. Before we blindly indulge in seemingly established historical myths, we should recognize that language itself can be a key to revealing the true history of humanity.

Today, we begin our Russian lessons by examining the Bukwiza precisely with the Bukwizas that were taken from us by Cyril and Methodius.
