Oliver Löwenherz and his family take us on a profound heart-touching journey in “Citizen Animal” that stimulates reflection and brings feelings to the surface.
In this film, those who are often not heard – the animals! – are given a voice.
Essential questions are raised: What rights do animals have and how often are these disregarded every day? Why are the needs and pains of animals so often ignored? What can we do NOW to change this?

But the film also shows many sparks of light: people who take action, do things differently, perceive animals as equals, and stand up for them.
People who, in a world where the voices of animals are often not heard, give these wonderful beings a voice.

This award-winning film is both a wake-up call and a loving narrative. It shows that a life in harmony with nature is possible and how we as humans must and can redefine our place in this world.
