In Jesus, both God’s love and his justice are perfectly fulfilled. As the Lamb of God, he takes upon himself the sins of the world, while his sacrifice fulfills the demand for justice. The cross thus stands at the center of the Christian faith and uniquely connects love and justice.
The Significance for Our Lives:
For us Christians, this means that we must respond to this love and justice. Jesus calls us to remain in his love by keeping his commandments and loving our neighbors. Faith in Jesus Christ and the confession of his lordship are the keys to salvation and eternal life.
