David against Goliath: How the extra-parliamentary opposition can prevail

Alexander Ehrlich is the Austria spokesperson for the organization “Europeans United,” a member of the “World Wide Demonstration” from the beginning, has organized over 1500 demonstrations for the rule of law (including the peace chain at Lake Constance and the demonstration against the 3rd Infection Protection Act in Berlin on November 18, 2020) and has been known since early 2020 primarily for three things:

a) Organization of international large demonstrations in Berlin, London, Brussels, Vienna, Madrid, Frankfurt, and hundreds of other cities
b) Networking of the extra-parliamentary opposition across national and language borders
c) Well-thought-out strategic concepts for the “resistance” against the globally increasing totalitarianism (keywords: speaker walks, #outofthebubble, #peoplefishing, #learntweeting, #sandinsgetriebe, etc.).

In our latest broadcast, we discuss the “big themes” of world politics from an abstract standpoint:

• Is the time we are experiencing really a “turning point”?
• If so, what paths are being set and what futures are conceivable?
• Is humanity facing such a situation for the first time, or does history rhyme?
• What can we as individuals and as a collective do to influence where the path of humanity leads?
• Does the choice of future strands really consist only of “transhumanism or representative democracy as previously known,” or are there possibly alternative paths or even compromises?

Additionally, Alexander gives us an overview of his current perception of the situation of the extra-parliamentary opposition in Europe and other continents and presents publicly for the first time projects from different countries that are just emerging, which pursue promising and unusual approaches to socio-political work.
