About this video

About this interview:

How does the first experience of connection shape our lives – and what happens when this connection is interrupted or injured early on? What are the effects on how we live relationship and community, and how can we heal old traumas and injuries today?

Anne Mattern – doula, healer, and shiatsu practitioner – in conversation with community researcher Dr. Iris Kunze. Anne shares about the lotus births of her three children and the insights that emerged from them for her trauma-sensitive work. The placenta as the “tree of life” became for her a symbol of the original connection with the mother, one’s own roots, and life itself. From these experiences, she developed her own method of reconnection with the sacred womb space of the Great Mother.

Through the womb space and the placenta, the memory of the original being carried and connected can be made tangible. The reconnection can open a path to security, primal trust, and inner wholeness.
