Myth/Guru in Yoga and Enlightenment
Is it not often the case in yoga that we yogis seek enlightenment and follow a guru appointed by humanity, and when we feel that this guru no longer leads us to enlightenment, we follow the next one? But where does this path lead us?
Yoga is a philosophy that consists not only of asanas (I would also like to talk about this topic), it is 3500 years old and the students were instructed in this teaching by their masters/teachers/gurus. I would like to call them pathfinders.
Yoga was not accessible to everyone; for these sacred teachings, an initiation was performed by Rishis-sages. These teachings were passed down only orally in the sacred language Gurmukhi.
Many yogis are still regarded as gurus today.
To name a few: Ananda, Shivananda, Vishnudevananda, Osho, Anandamayi Ma, and many more.
They all walked their yoga path and were each enlightened in their own time, some faster, some later. I was also asked by one of my friends and by students: “Would you like to be my GURU?”
My answer: “A clear NO”
To explain where the concept of the guru has developed: Literally translated, guru means “THE ONE WHO BRINGS LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESS”.
GU = for darkness and RU = for the extinguisher of darkness.

I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about yoga and the cultures in India, Thailand, and Bali, which is very dear to me.
I do not see myself as a guru and yoga teacher, but as a pathfinder.
