About this video
How could it come to the catastrophic rampage of a former student in Graz? How can tension build up and be released within a young person; or be compensated?
In our program, we dive deep into the fields of tension within the education system, where schools, teachers, administrations, parents, and children meet. We illuminate the challenges of initiating changes within a rigid system, as existing faculties often block innovations. Personal responsibility and a shift in consciousness are at the center to initiate an educational turnaround that promotes children holistically.
Stephanie Ingrid Müller – www.mediastep-institut.de, Martina and Thomas Weihrich – www.bildungskongress.vision (http://www.bildungskongress.vision/) as well as Udo Kreitmayr – www.udokreitmayr.at – inform, narrate, and inspire in connection with these topics.
We discuss the idea of parallel societies with a “village character” that enable children to grow up rooted and heart-oriented. At the same time, we address how collective and individual traumas hinder changes and how “light bearers” – authentic teachers and role models – pass on sparks of inspiration despite resistance. The program shows how important it is to hold on to the mission for children despite the lack of immediate appreciation and external successes. We invite you to think with us about solutions that reconcile the school system with the soul of the children.
We show how a new educational landscape can emerge, in which children are not just objects of a system but are taken seriously as subjects of their own learning processes. Self-determined education – beyond rigid curricula – opens spaces where curiosity, relationships, and meaning orientation shape learning. This vision inspires not only children but also parents and teachers, who become companions of a new understanding of education.
We invite you to think with us about solutions that reconcile the school system with the soul of the children – and open paths to a self-determined, vibrant educational culture.
Essential questions:
How can we integrate self-determined education into existing structures – or create new spaces where children can learn out of their own drive and in connection with their inner voice?
How can teachers and parents create spaces in the rigid school system to accompany children in a soul and heart-oriented manner?
What role do collective and individual traumas play in preventing changes in the education system, and how can we overcome them?
How can we as a society support “light bearers” who inspire children through role modeling and drive forward an educational turnaround?
